GlobalProtect by Palo Alto Networks is Dartmouth's supported VPN client. This tool is available across different devices and operating systems.
Important: If your computer is in Dartmouth's Device Assurance Program (DAP), the GlobalProtect client is already installed and configured on your computer. Please see the Run GlobalProtect VPN article. If your computer is not in DAP, follow the steps below.
Step-by-Step
iOS Installation - (iPads, Mobile phone)
1. Open the App Store and Get the GlobalProtect app
2. Launch GlobalProtect, Type vpn-mobile.dartmouth.edu in the Address field, and tap Connect
3. Tap Allow on the "GlobalProtect Would like to Add VPN Configurations" pop up.
Note: You will also be prompted to authenticate into your device using either your Mobile's pin to unlock the device, or through a fingerprint scan (if this is set up).
4. You will then be prompted to Login using your Dartmouth NetID and Password and Authenticate using DUO 2-factor authentication.
5. You will see the following screen once connected
Android Installation (tablet, mobile phone)
1. Open the Play Store and Install GlobalProtect
2. Open GlobalProtect, Type vpn-mobile.dartmouth.edu in the Address field, tap Connect
3. You will then be prompted to Login using your Dartmouth NetID and Password and Authenticate using DUO 2-factor authentication.
4. You will see the following screen once connected
