Zoom - Getting Started

Zoom is a web-based video conferencing application which allows you to connect and collaborate from anywhere, anytime, with anyone.  Zoom users can use in-meeting features to collaborate on projects, share screens and annotations, chat and work in breakout rooms and record sessions locally and in the cloud.

Who can use Dartmouth's Zoom account?

How do I activate my Dartmouth Zoom account?

  1. Go to dartmouth.zoom.us.
  2. Click Sign In to provision your Dartmouth Zoom account. 
  3. Enter your Dartmouth NetID, password, and Duo Authentication. Once this step is completed your account is activated. 
  4. Bookmark this webpage. This is where you can sign in to your account profile and access other resources.

NOTE: We suggest that you also Download the Zoom Desktop Client which will allow you to access Zoom directly from your desktop application.

How do I sign into the Zoom desktop client? 

After you download the Zoom desktop client and install it on your computer, you will be prompted to sign in. 

  1. At the sign in page, select the SSO​​​ key button​​​​ below the email and password prompt. 
  2. If you are prompted to enter a company domain, enter dartmouth and select Continue. 
  3. This will open a web browser window where you will sign in with your NetID and Password.

Zoom Room Guide
This guide pertains to 4 Currier 101E, 104, 213, 214, 215, 223, and 232, Kemeny 307, Parkhurst 009B, and Rockefeller 101. They have a single display (flat panel or projector) room with an audio-visual system that supports the use of a laptop through wired connection for presentation.  These spaces are either equipped with a ceiling microphone and room camera or sound bar with a built-in microphone and camera, which will capture audio and video when joining a Zoom meeting.
