Configure iOS for Email

Follow the instructions below for the email you have been provisioned.

Office 365

  1. Open the device Settings.
  2. Select Passwords & Accounts.
  3. Select Add Account.
  4. Select Exchange.
  5. In the Email field, enter your complete email address (e.g., john.a.doe@dartmouth.edu) Do not use a nickname or partial name.
  6. In the Password field, enter the password for your Dartmouth email account.
  7. In the Description field, enter something descriptive like "Dartmouth Blitz" or "Dartmouth Email".
  8. Select Next.
  9. In the Server field: Enter outlook.office365.com
  10. In the Domain field: leave blank
  11. In the Username field, enter your NetID address (e.g., d12345x@dartmouth.edu).
  12. In the Password field, enter the password for your Dartmouth email account.
  13. Select Next.
  14. Set the Mail, Contacts and Calendar fields to On, then touch Save.

Gmail

  1. Open the device Settings.
  2. Select Passwords & Accounts
  3. Select Add Account.
  4. Select Google
  5. In the Email field, enter your complete email address (e.g., john.a.doe@dartmouth.edu) and click Next.  Do not use a nickname or partial name.
  6. This will redirect you to the Dartmouth Web Authentication screen. Enter your Dartmouth NetID
  7. Enter your Dartmouth password in the Password field.  You may be prompted to enter the answer to a security question you set on your account.
  8. Choose which settings you prefer to sync to your device - Mail, Contacts, Calendars or Notes by toggling on or off the green button then touch Save
