Recording in ECSC and IIES

Process Overview

Class recording is available through the Zoom Room feature in the room.

  1. Start a Zoom meeting on your laptop and mute all of your audio.
  2. Then join the Zoom Room by selecting the Zoom option on the touch panel and entering your Meeting ID and Password.
  3. Start the recording from your laptop and share your screen for presentation content.
    The recording will capture the room cameras and the audio from the wireless microphone*.

*Note: You will need to repeat student questions asked in the classroom for the benefit of the remote participants.

Step-by-Step Instructions

Record In-Classroom Lecture Only- Zoom Room

Record in-classroom lecture with no remote attendees.

  1. Sign-in to Zoom from your laptop or other personal device (e.g., iPad, table, smartphone).
  2. Start the Zoom meeting from your laptop or other personal device.
    • In Zoom - mute audio
    • In Zoom - mute video
    • On your laptop or other personal device, lower volume all the way down (or mute)
  3. Go to the AV touch control panel, select Zoom
  4. Enter meeting id and passcode (if needed).
  5. Select join
  6. Sharing content?
    • No
      • Go to laptop
      • Select the record button or select More
      • Select Record to the cloud.
    • Yes
      • Go to laptop
      • Open content to be shared
      • Share content
      • Select the record button or select More
      • Select record to the cloud
  7. End of your lecture, select the stop button to end the recording.
    • Recording will upload to your Panopto account to My Folder
    • Log in to Panopto
      • Move the recording from My Folder to the folder for your course.

In-Classroom Lecture with Remote Attendees - Zoom Room

Record in-classroom lectures with remote attendees.

  1. This assumes a meeting has been created and meeting invite has been sent to the remote attendees in advance.
  2. Follow the steps above for asynchronous recording
  3. Remote attendees join as scheduled or
    1. Go to your active Zoom session
    2. Select participants
    3. Select the invite button
      • Proceed with your choice of options to send the invite to your remote attendees

Viewing Panopto Recordings in Canvas

Enable Panopto recordings to be viewed in Canvas.

A&S courses are booked in ECSC and IIES classrooms. These spaces are single projector room with an audiovisual system that supports the use of a laptop or tablet through wired or wireless connection for presentation. A lapel microphone is available for local speech reinforcement.
