Ryan Sokol
Client Technology Consultant II
Hello! I'm Ryan Sokol, a Client Technology Consultant in ITC. I love helping people fix problems, and I enjoy seeing the lightbulb go off when people realize they can understand difficult technological concepts. Prior to joining Dartmouth in 2019, I worked for a large university, a small 6-12 private school in Boston, and had a stint as a trainer and repair technician with Apple.
I have always been the "go-to IT guy" for my friends and family, and am always happy to lend an ear or a helping hand. While growing up, I liked to tinker with our family's Gateway PC, so whatever I broke had to be fixed by the time my dad got home from work. This taught me to work under pressure and find solutions before the advent of modern tech help forums.
It's a passion of mine to help people learn, and I enjoy it when they gain a sense of confidence and independence with their devices and systems. The computer world has moved so fast in the last 30 years, so my goal is to make sure people do not feel dumb for asking questions.
Outside of work, I love spending time with my wife and two kids. We go to lots of parks and hike any trails that their little feat can handle. And when the kids are finally asleep, I join my wife to play guitar and make music on our patio. I'm looking forward to meeting you, and helping you make the most of the tech tools we have here!
