If you are using an X server, you might need to have a "tunneled connection."
Step-by-Step
- In order to turn on X11 tunneling, you first need to create a bookmark; see Create Bookmarks Using SSH Secure Shell/SFTP.
- Click Profiles, then Edit Profiles. The Edit Profile window will appear.
- Click the name of the profile you are using for an X server.
- Click the X11 Tunneling tab.
- Check the box next to Tunnel X11 connections, then click OK.

After you have created the bookmark, you will need to edit the profile (i.e., bookmark) again.
- Click Profiles, then Edit Profiles. The Edit Profile window will appear.
- In the white box that makes up the left half of the window, click the name of the profile. A window similar to the one below will appear:
- Click the X11 Tunneling tab. A window similar to the one below will appear:
- Check the box next to Tunnel X11 connections, then click OK.
We recommend naming a regular connection hostname, and tunneled connection.
