How to Obtain MATLAB
Start using Matlab Online in browser: https://matlab.mathworks.com/ and sign in with your Dartmouth email address and Dartmouth Single-Sign-On (SSO).
For Matlab desktop, navigate to https://www.mathworks.com/academia/tah-portal/dartmouth-college-903104.html and click "Sign In to get Started". Make sure you use your Dartmouth email address in order to access Dartmouth's site license.
Dartmouth has a site license for Matlab. This includes an unlimited number of licenses for Matlab and several toolboxes for Mac OS X, Windows and Linux which can be found on the matlab download page .
Creating a Mathworks account, and associating it with Dartmouth's license (NetID required)
- Navigate to http://mathworks.com
- Create a Mathworks account: click on Log In in the upper right corner and click "Create Account" at the bottom of the login page.
- Use your Dartmouth email address when you create the account.
- Jot down the password you use for reference later
- Associate your license with Dartmouth College: Log in to your Mathworks account, click on your name in the top right hand corner of the web page and select My Account.
- This will display a list of the Matlab licenses with which you are associated.To associate your account, with Dartmouth's Site License, click on the "Associate to an additional license" link and enter one of these activation keys: see https://rcweb.dartmouth.edu/downloads/matlab/Matlab_Download_and_Install_Instructions.pdf for the Activation keys (NetID required to acccess)

Using Matlab (Matlab Online, Matlab install)
- Once logged in, in the upper right corner, click "Get Matlab".
- Then either launch Matlab Online, or click "Install Matlab"
- Download and run the installer. Log into your Matlab account again if prompted.
- Choose Matlab (individual)
- Check the "Select All" option at the top to un-select all (very large install), then check off Matlab and the toolboxes you need, such as the Bioinformatics Toolbox, Deep Learning Toolbox, Mapping Toolbox, Signal Processing Toolbox,
Matlab Online - log in with a Dartmouth-associated Matlab account (see above) at https://www.mathworks.com/products/matlab-online.html and use Matlab in a browser at https://matlab.mathworks.com/
