Generating Infomaker/PowerBuilder License Keys

Generating License Keys for Powerbuilder and Infomaker

Step-by-Step

1. Go to Sybase web site https://launchpad.support.sap.com/
   1. Enter User Name:
   2. Enter Password:
2. Click License Keys square
3. Click the Search button at bottom right
4. Click on the + button top right
5. Enter product SAP Powerbuilder
6. Version should be set to Sybase PowerBuilder 11.5 (even if they only are asking for InfoMaker 11.5)
7. System ID should be 3 spaces long and unique, ex A06
8. Change System Name to the computer name you want to license
9. Operating System should be Microsoft Windows
10. Click Continue
11. Click Generate
12. In the Total Number of Licenses line, make note of the license type, Primary or Alternative - then click next
13. Select License Usage type (noted in the above step), and click next
14. Select Unserved License, and click Next
15. Click Next, on number of machines (should be 1)
16. Enter NIC card mac address in the Host ID
17. Enter Computer name in Host Name
18. Enter 1 in Number of Licenses
19. Click Generate button
20. Click Download button, and save to file
    1. Save a copy of this license file here \\of_advance\it_support\Software\Sybase\License_Keys
21. Click Done
22. You can now log out of this system

How to Add License to Application

1. Open Infomaker or Powerbuilder Application
2. Go to Tools and choose Update License
3. Choose next and Standalone Seat
4. Maker sure ID and Computer Name have been populated
5. Click on load and choose license to open (you may need to store locally)
6. Click open and finish
7. Computer needs to be rebooted in order for the license to take effect

Steps if Licenses are all used up (draft)

1. Click on one of the systems
2. Click the Check In button.
3. Click yes to confirm check in.
4. Click the Edit button at bottom right
