Word 2016 Mac - How to Replace the Normal Template to get back to default settings.

Details

To remove Normal template and start over with default settings,

  • Quit Word.
  • Go to Macintosh HD/Users/<username>/Library/Group Containers/UBF8T346G9.Office/User Content/Templates
  • Remove the "Normal.dotm" file.
  • Open Word (this creates a new blank Normal template).
  • Set fonts and other settings as you want each new blank document have
  • Up in the ribbon on the Style gallery, control-click on Normal and select Update Normal to Match Selection.
