Tools within Microsoft Office 365 Suite

Microsoft is continually introducing new tools into their Office 365 suite to help increase your productivity and ability to collaborate.

How do I access all the tools available to me via Office 365?

There are several ways – the easiest of which is to log into This will bring you to a page showing all the online apps available to you from the Microsoft Office 365 suite. As new ones are released, they will automatically be available to you from this page. This page is accessible to everyone at Dartmouth, regardless of whether their mailbox is in the O365 environment or the Gmail environment. 

Alternatively, if you’re logged into, and your mailbox is in the O365 (Outlook) environment (as opposed to Gmail), click the application launcher icon (tic tac toe board) found in the upper left corner of the window. This will display the tools available to you. As new ones are released, they will automatically appear in the launcher.

Additionally, many of these tools are available for download to your mobile devices. Visit the appropriate app store for your device and search for the tool you would like to install on your mobile device.

What tools are available to me?

The tools available change as Microsoft releases new ones. Most recently, Teams, Yammer, Stream and Power BI were added to Dartmouth’s site. This is in addition to tools such as Word, Excel, PowerPoint, OneDrive, OneNote, Planner, Forms and more that have been available for a while. Microsoft is continually releasing new tools and continuing to improve the ones we currently have available.
