SharePoint O365 Cross-linked Sites


SharePoint provides the ability to link documents between SharePoint sites. The cross-link of a file creates a reference to the file in the original SharePoint site instead of copying the file.

To create a link to file in a SharePoint site to another SharePoint site:

  1. Open the SharePoint Site you wish to add the file to.
  2. Click Documents, then +New, then Link, then Create link to.
  3. Select file you wish to link to from the recent files displayed.

Your file is now linked from one SharePoint Site to another.
