For students that purchased the recommended computer packages through
The Computer Store
as part of the offerings to incoming students, the following warranties are included:
Macintosh computers come with the option of a one-year or three-year AppleCare warranty, or a four-year Safeware Accidental Damage warranty. The Apple warranty covers manufacture defects only (not accidental damage);
Windows computers come with a one-year or the option of a four-year Accidental Damage Policy. The Dell warranty covers manufacture defects, plus accidental damage.
Please note that software-related problems are not covered on any of the systems.
For students who don't purchase the recommended models but want to purchase an alternative bundle, be aware that a warranty is not automatic. You should select the warranty you want when configuring a bundle.
Repairs to Apple, Dell, Lenovo and HP computers can be done on campus by our certified technicians, regardless of whether you purchase them through us, or elsewhere. If you bring a personal computer other than one listed above, you will need to take your computer off-campus for warranty service.
In rare cases, you may need to take a class that requires the use of software or resources that are not available for the computer you own — either Macintosh or Windows. You can meet the class requirements by using a public computer.
