Step-by-Step
To find your computer's name and current IP address:
Start by opening a command prompt window by pressing the
Windows
key and the
R
key down together, then in the
Open
box enter
cmd
and click
OK
.
In the Command Prompt window that opens, type
ipconfig /all
(there is a space after ipconfig) and press the
Enter
key.
In the ipconfig results, look for the
Host Name
field to see the computer name.
Look for the
IPv4 Address
for your computer's current IP address. NOTE: You may have more than one IPv4 Address depending on the connection type (ethernet or wireless).
