Step-by-Step
To find your computer's name and current IP address:
- Start by opening a command prompt window by pressing the Windows key and the R key down together, then in the Open box enter cmd and click OK.
- In the Command Prompt window that opens, type ipconfig /all (there is a space after ipconfig) and press the Enter key.
- In the ipconfig results, look for the Host Name field to see the computer name.
- Look for the IPv4 Address for your computer's current IP address. NOTE: You may have more than one IPv4 Address depending on the connection type (ethernet or wireless).
