WebADI Settings

Step-by-Step

WebADI is a tool used for uploading Journal Entries to the General Ledger. This tool requires the use of the WebADI Excel template and has specific setting requirements for both Excel and Internet Explorer as follows:

System Requirements

  • Windows 7 or newer
  • Internet Explorer 11
  • Microsoft Excel 2010, 2013, 2016

Internet Explorer Settings

  1. Click Tools.
  2. Click Internet Options.
  3. Click the Security tab.
  4. Click Trusted sites, then the Custom level button.
  5. Scroll down to the Scripting section and enable all items in that section.
  6. Click OK.
  7. Back on the Security tab, follow the same procedure in steps 4,5,6 for Local Intranet and Internet.
  8. Click OK to exit Internet Explorer.

Excel Settings

  1. Click the File tab.
  2. Click Options.
  3. Click Trust Center.
  4. Click the Trust Center button.
  5. Click Macro Settings.
  6. Click the radio button beside Disable all macros with notification.
  7. In the Developer Macro Settings section, place a check in the box next to Trust access to the VBA project object model.

Optional Settings - If the "Add-in" tab is not showing in Excel, some of theses settings may need to be set. Apply each setting, one at a time, and then test. Once working, you do not need to apply the others.

  • If opening spreadsheet from network location, apply this setting. In Trusted Locations: check Allow Trusted Location on my network (not recommended)
  • In Protected View: only check Enable Protected view for files located in potentially unsafe locations
  • If opening spreadsheet from your local C drive, then apply this setting. In Trusted Locations: click Add new location... Enter C:\ in the path field. Check the box for Subfolders of this location are also trusted.
