Subject: TIME SENSITIVE
Sender: Joanne Conroy <companymailbox9582@gmail.com>

Hello (Redacted)

I want to forward some instructions to you. What is the best number to reach you directly?

This email contains the following indications of a phishing attack:

  • The email address (companymailbox9582@gmail.com) does not match the display name (Joanne Conroy), a common pattern in impersonation attempts.
  • The email creates a sense of urgency that action is time sensitive, a common tactic for phishing scams.
  • The email is requesting personal information, in this case a phone number, to forward instructions. The bad actor will use this number to contact the user and start engaging with the user to gain more information from them.
