Audio Only Call in Zoom

Tags Zoom-phone

Zoom provides an audio only conference by doing the following steps:

  1. Open a web browser and log into dartmouth.zoom.us with your NetID and password.
  2. In the left column, click Personal Audio Conference. (If you haven't already enabled it, click the enable link.)
  3. Once enabled, you'll see two accounts. These are different for each person. At the bottom of the "Account 1" section (or "Account 2" - your choice), click the Copy invitation for participants link.
  4. Another window will open; click the Copy invitation for participants button.
  5. Paste that information into the meeting invite or email you're sending to the participants, then delete the line that starts with "Join via URL". If you don't provide the participants that line, they will not be able to open their video link in the meeting.

Participants will then need to call (dial) one of the numbers in that invitation.

Of note, everyone joining the meeting will need to provide the "Conference ID" which is also in the invitation - at the bottom. The host of the meeting will need to additionally provide the host key - which is found at the very bottom of your "Personal Audio Conference" page.
