Runtime Error 53 - Mac

Details

This the error referring to the Adobe PDF add in for Word, and may be the other office applications too (Excel and PowerPoint).

Step-by-Step

1. Quit all open Office applications.
2. from the Finder.
3. Click Go menu.
4. Select Go to Folder... .
5. Enter ~/Library/Group Containers/
6. Click Go.
7. Locate the folder that begins as UB and ends as .Office (i.e. UB48T346G9.Office or UBF8T346G9.Office).
8. Continue to /User Content/Startup.
9. In the Excel folder, delete SaveAsAdobePDF.ppam.
10. In the Word folder, delete linkCreation.dotm
11. In the PowerPoint folder, delete SaveAsAdobePDF.ppam

Open Word,Excel and Powerpoint​​​​​​​. Check the Tools Settings --> Templates & Add-ins. Make sure the .ppam and .dotm are no longer in there. If they are delete them and re-open the Office applications.
