GlobalProtect Mobile VPN Client Installation

GlobalProtect by Palo Alto Networks is Dartmouth's newly supported VPN client. This tool has replaced the F5 VPN client, also known as the Big-IP Edge client, and is available across different devices and operating systems.

Important: If your computer is in Dartmouth's Device Assurance Program (DAP), the GlobalProtect client is already installed and configured on your computer. Please see the Run GlobalProtect VPN article. If your computer is not in DAP, follow the steps below.

Step-by-Step

iOS Installation

1. Open the App Store and Get the GlobalProtect app

2. Launch GlobalProtect, Type vpn-mobile.dartmouth.edu in the Address field, and tap Connect

3. Tap Allow on the "GlobalProtect Would like to Add VPN Configurations" pop up.

Note: You will also be prompted to authenticate into your device using either your Mobile's pin to unlock the device, or through a fingerprint scan (if this is set up).

4. You will then be prompted to Login using your Dartmouth NetID and Password and Authenticate using DUO 2-factor authentication

Note: Dartmouth is switching from using security questions to using Duo to verify your identity when logging into systems. If you have not enrolled in DUO, you will prompted to get set up. Click Set Up Duo to see the steps.
