Step-by-Step
This application is site licensed and requires a computer that is connected to the Dartmouth network each time you run Sibelius.
- Download Sibelius 7 for Macintosh. You will need to enter your Dartmouth credentials to download the installer.
- Run the .pkg file
- The file will unzip resulting in a Sibelius 7.5 app in the Applications folder. Read the ReadMeFirst document for installation and license instructions.
Sibelius is software for writing music. It is an Intel program with 32-bit and 64-bit support, and will run on any Mac with Intel CPU, or Apple Silicon with Intel emulation (at least up through MacOS 26)
On MacOS 26 (Tahoe), there are missing fonts which will cause scores to be rendered incorrectly. We will update this page if we find a solution to this issue. The fonts were part of MacOS and are not specific to Sibelius.
