SCCM Server Maintenance Schedule

Applies to: Windows machines enrolled in DAP

SCCM server maintenance will take place each year, once a quarter. At which time the SCCM server will be unavailable.

On the dates noted below, the SCCM server will be unavailable due to updating, general maintenance, and testing. Plan on it being offline for the entire day. In most cases it will not be offline the entire day.

While the SCCM server is unavailable, client workstations will not be affected, except for the following:

  1. Attempting to install software, from the Software Center, will not work.
  2. PXE booting to provision a device will not work.
  3. No device will receive any updates from SCCM, for the OS, anti-virus, or Office.

After maintenance and testing have been completed, notification will be sent noting the SCCM server is back online.

Production Development

July 13, 2023

  • Update SCCM server to version 2303

TBD

  • Back-end server maintenance to be performed
  • No interruption of services is expected

June 5, 2023

Dates in the Development column are performed on the Development SCCM server, several weeks prior to the production maintenance. This is in the Green domain. Doing maintenance on this server will not affect any clients in the production environment.

The Development server is used to do a run-through of the upgrades, prior to upgrading the production server. This process helps expose any issues that may arise during the upgrade. This also allows time to determine what remediation steps to take, to make the production upgrade smoother.
