Windows 10: Change a file's current file association

You select a file in and the file opens in a different application than expected. PDF file opens in Microsoft Edge rather than Adobe Reader or Adobe Acrobat. Follow these directions to change the file association. 

Step-by-Step

1. Right-click a file whose association you want to change.
2. Select "Open With."
3. If the app you want to associate isn't listed, click "Chose another app" at the bottom of the window.
4. If you don't see the app listed, scroll down and click "More apps."
5. Select appropriate app from list and tick "Always use this app to open .xxx files."
