"Cannot start Microsoft Outlook. Cannot open the Outlook window. Invalid XML, the view cannot be loaded."

Issue

When opening Outlook on Windows, an error appears: "Cannot start Microsoft Outlook. Cannot open the Outlook window. Invalid XML, the view cannot be loaded."

Cause

The navigation pane has been corrupted.

Resolution

To fix this error, run the Outlook.exe /ResetNavPane command:

1. Open a run prompt.
2. Type the above command and click OK.
3. Restart Outlook.

This will clear and regenerate the current profile's navigation pane.
