How to Run an App in Compatibility Mode (Windows 10)

When running an app in compatibility mode, you can force an app to use settings from an earlier version of Windows. This can be helpful when an app that used to run well in, say,  Windows 7 or Windows 8. Compatibility mode also lets you change the display and color settings for the app.

Step-by-Step

1. Right-Click on an app and select Properties. You can do this on an app's shortcut found on your desktop or by navigating in File Explorer to it's .exe file.

2. Select the Compatibility tab

3. Check the box next to Run this program in compatibility mode

4. Select the version of Windows to use for your app's settings in the drop-down menu

5.Hit Apply and then run the app
