To change the default application for opening a file:
Single click a file that uses the file type you'd like to
change the default for
. ..
Click the File menu and choose
Get Info
(you can also use the shortcut of
Command + I keys
on your keyboard)
In the
Open With
section, if there's an appropriate file in the list you can select it and click
Change All
and confirm, and now all files with that extension open in that app.
If the app you want doesn’t appear in the list, select
Other
.
Choose the app from the list that shows. In the
Enable pop-up menu,
you can choose
All Applications
, and it will let you pick any app. Check the
Always Open With
box to force an association.
Close the
Get Info
window.
