Step-by-Step
If Sibelius is failing to accept the License Server specified in the ReadMe file (sibeliuslicense.dartmouth.edu) find someone's Macintosh that is successfully running Sibelius and do the following:
- Open the Macintosh Hard drive and then open the Library folder
- Open the Application Support folder and then open the Avid folder.
- Copy the Sibelius 7.5 folder onto a USB drive.
- Properly eject the USB drive and connect it to the computer that is unable to use Sibelius.
- On the problem computer, confirm Sibelius is not running.
- Open the Macintosh Hard Drive, and open the Library folder.
- Open the Application Support folder and then open the Avid folder.
- Copy and paste the Sibelius 7.5 folder from the USB drive into the Avid folder you just opened.
- Confirm the problem Mac is connected to either a Dartmouth Ethernet network, Eduroam wi-fi, or, if off-campus, that you have a VPN connection enabled.
- Open Sibelius. You should see the words "Network User" in the lower-left part of the opening Sibelius splash screen.
