Sibelius for Macintosh: fails to accept License Server hostname

Step-by-Step

If Sibelius is failing to accept the License Server specified in the ReadMe file (sibeliuslicense.dartmouth.edu) find someone's Macintosh that is successfully running Sibelius and do the following:

  1. Open the Macintosh Hard drive and then open the Library folder
  2. Open the Application Support folder and then open the Avid folder.
  3. Copy the Sibelius 7.5 folder onto a USB drive.
  4. Properly eject the USB drive and connect it to the computer that is unable to use Sibelius.
  5. On the problem computer, confirm Sibelius is not running.
  6. Open the Macintosh Hard Drive, and open the Library folder.
  7. Open the Application Support folder and then open the Avid folder.
  8. Copy and paste the Sibelius 7.5 folder from the USB drive into the Avid folder you just opened.
  9. Confirm the problem Mac is connected to either a Dartmouth Ethernet network, Eduroam wi-fi, or, if off-campus, that you have a VPN connection enabled.
  10. Open Sibelius. You should see the words "Network User" in the lower-left part of the opening Sibelius splash screen.
