Obtain Service Tag Number from Dell Laptop

Dell computers are shipped with the service tag appearing on a label on the bottom of the computer. If Service Tag label is lost, the command prompt below offers another way to find the number.

  1. Open a Command Prompt window. In Windows 10 do this by typing cmd in the search box; in Windows 7 do this by click Start, then Run then typing cmd in the Open box. 
  2. In the command prompt window, type wmic csproduct get vendor,name,identifyingnumber
  3. Press Enter.
