Mac OS X Computer Name and IP Address
Step-by-Step
To locate the name of your Mac OS X computer or it's current IP address:
Click the
Apple
menu in the top left corner of your screen.
Select
System Settings
.
Scroll down in the left sidebar and click on
General
. Then select
About
. Here, you can see the "Name" of your Mac.
To find your
IP address
, go back to the main System Settings screen.
In the left sidebar, select
Network
. This will open the Network settings.
Choose your
network connection type
on the left side (e.g., Wi-Fi, Ethernet).
Click on "
Details
".
Scroll down to see the IP address.
