Mac OS X Computer Name and IP Address

Step-by-Step

To locate the name of your Mac OS X computer or it's current IP address:

• Click the Apple menu in the top left corner of your screen.
• Select System Settings.
• Scroll down in the left sidebar and click on General. Then select About . Here, you can see the "Name" of your Mac.
• To find your IP address, go back to the main System Settings screen.
• In the left sidebar, select Network. This will open the Network settings.
• Choose your network connection type on the left side (e.g., Wi-Fi, Ethernet).
• Click on "Details".
• Scroll down to see the IP address.
