Mac OS X Computer Name and IP Address

Step-by-Step

To locate the name of your Mac OS X computer or it's current IP address:

• Click the Apple menu.
• Click System Preferences....
• Click Sharing to view the name of your computer.
• Click the back arrow to view all System Preferences.
• Click Network to view the IP address of your computer.
• Click the type of network connection on the left side (ethernet, Wi-Fi, etc.) to identify the connection type.
• View the assigned IP address for the specified connection type under the Status in the main part of the window.
