Step-by-Step
In BWA:
If your mailbox is in O365, to hide or change the position of the reading pane (also called the preview pane) do the following:
- Open your email account in a web browser.
- Click the 'Gear' icon (the Settings icon) to the right of your name in the upper right part of the window.
- Type Reading Pane in the search box.
- Select the Layout option you want. NOTE: You can also select "Apply to all folders".
- Click OK.
If your mailbox is in Gmail, to hide or change the position of the reading pane (also called the preview pane) do the following:
- Open your email account in a web browser.
- Click the 'Gear' icon (the Settings icon) beneath your name in the upper right part of the window.
- Click Settings.
- Click the Advanced tab.
- Scoll down to the "Preview Pane" section and click Enable. .
- Click Save Changes.
In Outlook for Windows:
To change how you see your email displayed, for instance as a list instead of previewing your messages on the side or bottom, do the following:
- Open Outlook.
- Click once on the Folder you want to change in your display. (e.g. the Inbox folder)
- Click the View tab.
- In the Ribbon, look for the "Layout" section.
- Click Reading Pane.
- In Outlook 2013,Outlook 2016 click right, bottom, or off.
In Outlook Mac OS:
To hide or change the position of the reading pane (also called the preview pane) do the following:
- Open Outlook.
- Click View on top menu bar.
- Move your mouse over Reading Pane.
- Click Right, Below or Hidden.
