Reports Generated from Code Red prompts for Credentials

Applies To

Investment Office Staff who are having trouble accessing reports that render through the CodeRed application.  The CodeRed reports, which render through Internet Explorer, prompt for username and password. These are unnecessary steps for the Investment Office staff. 

Step-by-Step

  1. Open Internet Explorer.
  2. Click Tools from the menu bar.
  3. Click Internet Options.
  4. Click Security Tab.
  5. Click Trusted Sites.
  6. Click the Sites Button below the Trusted Sites box.
  7. Uncheck Require server verification (https:) for all site in this zone.
  8. Add this website to the zone:   https://codered.dartmouth.edu
  9. Click Close.
  10. On the Security tab, click Custom Level.
  11. Scroll to list bottom to find User Authentication.
  12. Click Automatic logon with current user name and password.
  13. Click OK twice.

You will need to restart Internet Explorer for settings change to take effect.

 

Cause

 

The issue here is that the CodeRed server is not listed as a trusted site in Internet Explorer.
