Central Classroom Whiteboard and IDEA Screen Cleaning

Several central classrooms have both quartz white boards and IDEA Screens (white board used for projection) installed.  This written guide is to assist users on the cleaning process of these two different type boards during the class day.  Additional cleaning followed up by the custodial staff.

IDEA Screens

IDEA Screens are different than your normal quartz whiteboard. They are more of a matte looking finish and are designed for images to be projected on to them.

Cleaning

  1. The dry erase marker should be erased with the foam erasers.
    1. Do not use the foam erasers with any cleaning spray.  This will cause smudging.
  2. Custodial staff do a deep clean once a week.
  3. If users are wanting to clean the IDEA Screens in-between the weekly cleaning:
    1. Wipe the boards with the foam erasers
    2. Use water and a micro fiber rag (IDEA Screens ONLY).

Quartz Whiteboards

Quartz whiteboards have a glossy white finish.

Cleaning

  1. The dry erase marker should be erased first with the foam erasers.
    1. Do not use the foam erasers with any cleaning spray.  This will cause smudging.
  2. Custodial staff do a deep clean once a week with micro fiber rag and chemical spray.
