Discovery Cluster Upgrade 2024

Recent OS Migration Announcement

We are excited to announce the migration of our operating system from CentOS 7 to Red Hat Enterprise Linux 8 (RHEL8). This transition marks a significant step forward in enhancing the stability, security, and performance of our infrastructure.

This website will be used to provide an update on the ongoing migration process, which is set to conclude by June 30th. Over the coming weeks, we'll be migrating batches of compute nodes. During this time, you may notice a decrease in available resources within the discovery7 cluster, with more resources becoming available in the new cluster.

To access the new cluster, ssh <netid>@andes8 or ssh <netid>@discovery8 instead of going to discovery.  Either of those system can submit jobs to the RHEL8 cluster.
