RDS - Mac - Error that the remote desktop is not logged in

Sometimes after an update to the RDS service, you might get an error when trying to login to an application in RDS.

Solution

  1. Connect to RDS via the web page https://rds.dartmouth.edu, sign in and then try your application from there.
  2. Or if, starting from the Microsoft Remote Desktop app,  
    • Click the Workspaces tab
    • Click the App commands and tasks icon (see image below)
    • Select Refresh All Workspaces
    • Then try launching the app again from under the Workspaces tab in Microsoft Remote Desktop
