Which files and file locations are excluded from backup using the CrashPlan app.
Details
By default CrashPlan applies a number of rules to exclude files from backup.
The CrashPlan app is designed to preserve user files from devices, not operating system files or applications.
- Therefore, the CrashPlan app excludes certain temporary files and system files.
- See below for a description of the files that are excluded from backup.
- On a regular basis, CrashPlan will assess and add additional backup file exclusions as needed.
Please note: Occasionally there will be some files or file locations that are excluded, that some users will want to include. In this situation we advise users to employ a local solution to copy or otherwise link files from an excluded location to one that can be included.
Virtual Machine users - All files related to Virtual Machines are excluded from CrashPlan backup. Users will need to export data from any VMs they use to a location that is being backed up, or submit a Service Desk request for help getting CrashPlan installed on the Virtual Machine.

and any file with the suffix .etl or .mui
The MSOCache file (the name is case-sensitive).
