DEM - Desktop Quick Start

Asset and Requests Desktop Overview

The equipment management desktop provides department equipment managers with visibility into all their department’s institutionally purchased and managed computers. The desktop also provides information on user computers that are coming up on their three year replacement and enables the equipment manager to start the replacement process.

Quick Start

  1. Navigate to the Dartmouth Services Portal (services.dartmouth.edu)
  2. Click Log-in in the upper right hand corner and enter your Dartmouth Credentials. If you are already logged in, click your name and select "TDNext".
  3. Select either the "Equipment Manager's Asset Desktop" or "Equipment Manager's Requests Desktop" from the drop down in the upper right hand side of TDNext.

Requests Desktop

Use this desktop to view and track replacement requests. Watch video introduction

  1. Desktop Dropdown
    Switch between the Assets and Requests desktops
  2. Requests in Process
    A chart to show how many requests are being processed.
  3. Requests ready for your review
    Requests that are ready for you to initiate a replacement. Learn more in the Equipment Renewals article.
  4. Request response from user
    After a user has made an equipment choice, their response will show up here for your approval.
  5. Desktop Information
    Reminder of use for each desktop, link to the quick start guide (hey there!), program information and feedback.
  6. Desktop Buttons
    Buttons used for requesting, viewing, and managing assets. Learn more below

Assets Desktop

Use this desktop o view your inventory of assets and see what is coming up for replacement soon. Watch video introduction

  1. Desktop Dropdown
    Switch between the Assets and Requests desktops
  2. Assets Due for Replacement
    Equipment that is due for replacement (based on the replacement cycle)
  3. CAP Assets
    See all of your departments CAP assets
  4. Non-CAP Assets
    View assets purchased through the Computer Store, but are not part of the CAP program
  5. Desktop Information
    Reminder of use for each desktop, link to the quick start guide (hey there!), program information and feedback.
  6. Desktop Buttons
    Buttons used for requesting, viewing, and managing assets. Learn more below

Desktop Buttons

Request New Asset
Request a to purchase and set up device for a new employee.

Modify Owner
Transfer the ownership of one device to another employee.

Search for Asset
Search for an asset by employee or serial number.

Knowledge Base
Learn more about the desktops and equipment manager processes.

Equipment Choices
View the current equipment offerings under the Dartmouth Equipment Programs.

Ticketing History
View the history of requests made and full filled.
