Slack Huddles

Overview

Slack huddles are audio-only meetings within a channel or DM where anyone in that group can join and leave at any time.

  • They provide an option for quick, informal conversations.
  • Others outside of the channel or DM can be invited to join a huddle without needing to be invited to the channel.
  • There is no pressure to turn your video on during a huddle, although you are able to share your screen and draw on it to facilitate collaboration.

Huddles are a great alternative to long, scheduled meetings when you just need to go over a topic quickly. They can also be used to chat with colleagues or friends like you would when passing each other in the hallway or around the coffee machine.

If you would like to learn more about huddles, see Slack's article about their features and read about potential use cases for huddles.

How to use Slack Huddles

  • Once the huddle has started, you can click the microphone icon to mute your microphone, the screen icon to share your screen, or the add people icon to invite specific people to the huddle.
