REDCap at Dartmouth

REDCap (Research Electronic Data Capture) is a secure web application for building and managing online surveys and databases. It has many features, including:

Support for REDCap for research use is provided by the SYNERGY Biomedical Informatics Core.

To set up a new research project within REDCap, please contact redcap@dartmouth.edu

Please be aware of the following requirements:

To store research data within REDCap, you must have a CPHS-approved study.

The initial login credentials for a new project will be given to the Principal Investigator of the study. The Principal Investigator will be able to approve access to project members listed in the CPHS study.

This instance of REDCap is intended for the purpose of securely and managing research data collected for Dartmouth College-based studies.

REDCap's streamlined process for rapidly creating and designing projects offers a vast array of tools that can be tailored to virtually any data collection strategy.

REDCap provides automated export procedures for seamless data downloads to Excel and common statistical packages (SPSS, SAS, Stata, R), as well as a built-in project calendar, a scheduling module, ad hoc reporting tools, and advanced features, such as branching logic, file uploading, and calculated fields.

Studies that collect or manage research data on Dartmouth-Hitchcock patients will be given login credentials to another instance of REDCap, which is available behind the firewalls of Dartmouth-Hitchcock. These research studies must also comply with all Dartmouth-Hitchcock policies regarding the storage, management, use, and release of patient data for research purposes. Please contact your Helpdesk for more information on using REDCap at DHMC.
