SMTP Relay - Keeping a copy in the Sent Folder

Since Fall of 2018, Microsoft changed the default behavior of any messages that used a SMTP Relay. By default, it was set to keep a copy of sent messages in the Sent folder in the account. Fall of 2020 Microsoft made it possible to disable this behavior.

For cloud accounts, this will be enabled by default. Certain accounts may need this disabled for security purposes or to cut down on messages saved to the account's sent folder (e.g. MFD Scan to Email f002zy6). If there is an account that could benefit by disabling, follow the process below.

Request to disable/enable

  1. Create a ticket that includes the following:
    • NetID of the account
    • Primary Contact
  2. Send ticket to Infrastructure
