Operating System

Mac

  1. Click on the  Apple logo at the top left of your screen.
  2. Select About this Mac.
  3. The macOS name and version number should be at the top.

Windows

  1. Click on the Windows start menu.
  2. Type About and select About your PC.
  3. Look for the Edition under Windows Specifications.

Memory (RAM)

Mac

  1. Click on the Apple logo at the top left of your screen.
  2. Select About this Mac.
  3. Look for Memory.

Windows

  1. Click on the Windows start menu.
  2. Type About and select About your PC.
  3. Look for Installed RAM.

Storage

Mac

  1. Click on the Apple logo at the top left of your screen.
  2. Select About this Mac.
  3. Click on Storage.
  4. The size of the hard drive should appear on the left.
  5. *Hard drives typically come in 128 GB, 256 GB, 512 GB, and 1 TB sizes. For various reasons, their usable capacity may appear slightly smaller.

Windows

  1. Click on the Windows start menu.
  2. Type Storage and select Storage Settings.
  3. The hard drive size should appear next to Windows (C:)
