Help with Converting Data into the Stata Format

  • Stata reference manuals are available in the Reference collection on Baker/Berry Level 1.
  • Students with data in a SAS format can email Jianjun Hua at statistical.consulting@dartmouth.edu to convert it into Stata format. This would be a file with a file extension of .sas7bdat, or a file with a .csv or .txt file extension that came with a separate SAS code file.

Help for the Entire Class

  • One of the subject reference librarians can talk with a class during a regular class period or x-hour about obtaining data.
  • Jianjun Hua, Statistical Consultant, can talk with a class during a regular class period or x-hour about the basics of using Stata or SPSS. Email Jianjun at statistical.consulting@dartmouth.edu.
  • Under the terms of our agreement with SPSS, Dartmouth's copy of SPSS cannot be installed on student machines. It is available for use on any of the public computers around campus. Alternatively, students can purchase their own copy, OR rent a copy for a six or twelve month period through OnTheHub. Submit a ticket with the ITC Service Desk more information on purchasing or renting a copy of SPSS.
