Logging In to Drupal

SAML Authentication

The URL to reach the sign-in authentication page may vary, but the structure is the same. Type the site (not page) address, then a single forward slash, then "saml_login" without quotations. Examples include:

  • Department of English: http://english.dartmouth.edu/saml_login
  • Arts & Sciences Faculty Directory: http://dartmouth.edu/faculty-directory/saml_login
  • Dartmouth Home: http://dartmouth.edu/saml_login

You will be asked for your NetID and password. If you have saved that information in your browser, you may be automatically logged in. You will then see a page that displays basic information about your account.

If you don't know your site's URL and can't find it by asking other site editors or using the search feature on Dartmouth's homepage, please send an email with your name, all the information about the site that you do have, and your affiliation with the site to web.support@dartmouth.edu.

You will then be asked for your NetID and password, unless you have saved that information in your browser, in which case you may be automatically logged in. You will then see the page's editing interface.

  • If you have Drupal training and are an approved editor of the site, you will see your control panel and will be able to edit the site.
  • If you do not see the control panel at the top of the page when you log in, or if you were not taken to the editing interface for the page you were looking at when you clicked on the Last Updated link, then you do not have permission to edit the site. If you believe you are supposed to have permission, please send an email with your name, the URL of the site you need to edit, and your affiliation with the site to web.support@dartmouth.edu.
