Update Text Information for DartAlert

 

The phone numbers used for DartAlert emergency text notifications to employees are now sourced from the Employee Self-Service system.

Employees should follow the instructions below to review/edit their mobile phone number to receive text emergency notifications.  This article will also guide you on updating your personal information and emergency contacts. 

 

Update Phone Number for Text Notifications

  1. Log in to VPN
  2. Log in to Employee Self Service (ESS) using NetID and password
  3. Choose “Personal Information”
  4. To the Right of “Phone Numbers, Choose “Update.”
  5. Provide a mobile number for DartAlert text messages
  6. If home and mobile are the same, use the mobile field.
  7. After you have completed your entries, click "Next" to review your changes,
  8. Then, click the "Submit" button to apply the updates.

Phone Number Tips

  • While this information is not shared publicly, Dartmouth will use it to send texts during campus emergencies as part of DartAlert, Dartmouth's emergency notification system. 
  • DartAlert information @ https://dartgo.org/dartalert  
  • Use the green plus sign to add up to three phone numbers.
    • Please note that if your "Work" number is not a mobile device, it will NOT receive the emergency notification.  
  • Enter your full phone number, including area code, using these formats: 
    • US phone numbers: 555-555-5555 
    • Non-US phone numbers: +91 12 3456 7890 
  • Select the trash can icon to delete an entire line.  
  • Select the house icon above to return to the main screen. 

Update Personal Information*

To update the following:

  • Basic Details
    • Preferred First Name
    • Preferred Middle Name
    • Preferred Last name
    • Personal Email
    • Hinman Box
  • Mailing Address
  • Other Address 

Follow the same steps you used to update your phone number.

  1. To the Right of the section of information, choose “Update.”
  2. After you have completed your entries, click "Next" to review your changes,
  3. Then, click the "Submit" button to apply the updates.

*Please note: any changes to Preferred First/Middle/Last name will trigger a change to your primary email alias.


Update Emergency Contacts

  1. Log in to VPN
  2. Log in to Employee Self Service (ESS) using NetID and password
  3. Choose "Emergency Contacts"
  4. Choose "Add" 
  5. Choose "Next"
  6. Enter New Contact Information
  7. Choose "Apply" 

Emergency Contact Tips

  • Provide the name and contact information for up to two people who could be contacted on your behalf if you are experiencing a personal emergency.
  • This information will not be used for any other purpose. 
  • Select the house icon above to return to the main screen.
