Overview

Multiple projector room with an audiovisual system that supports the use of a classroom computer or laptop through wired connection for presentation. Voice Lift, Lapel, and Handheld microphone is available for local speech reinforcement.  Ceiling microphone and room cameras will capture audio and video when joining the classroom to a Zoom meeting or when recording class meetings via classroom capture.

Technology Features

Present

Present your digital content from a computer through the projector and speakers.

  • Classroom Computer
    Use the classroom computer for slide shows or other media presentation.
  • HDMI
    Directly connect your laptop or other device to the audiovisual system.
  • Wearable Microphone or Voice Lift
    A wearable microphone is available to use for local speech reinforcement.

Join Zoom

Room microphones and cameras will enable remote guests to see and hear activities in the classroom.

  • Join a Meeting
    Set up a Zoom meeting ahead of class and join from the room by entering in the Meeting ID and Password
  • Zoom Share (Wireless Sharing)
    Use the Zoom "Share" button in the Zoom desktop client to wirelessly present your content in-room and to any remote participants in the Zoom meeting

Getting Started

Local Presentation - Wired

  1. Plug your laptop or mobile device into the HDMI cable (or use the classroom computer) Adapter may be required.
  2. Using the touch panel, select the content you would like to display on the center and/or side projector(s) (Class Mac or HDMI)
  3. Adjust the volume through the fader on the of the touch panel as needed
  4. When you are finished, please tap the power button to turn off the system

Local Presentation - Wireless

  1. Select Zoom button from the touch panel control
  2. Launch Zoom desktop application from your laptop (or the Class Mac)
    1. Log in via SSO
  3. Select Share Screen button
  4. Enter the 6 letter sharing code
    1. This can be found upper right corner of the Zoom splash page or the upper right corner of the touch panel control
  5. When you are finished, please tap the power button to turn off the system

Join Zoom

  1. Set up your Zoom meeting before class and note the Meeting ID and Password
    1. Invite the room (e.g.; Silsby.Room.113@cloud.dartmouth.edu) for the meeting to appear on the Zoom Room splash page.
  2. Using the touch panel, select the "Join Zoom" button and enter in the Meeting ID and Password when prompted
  3. To present content, use Zoom Share from the classroom computer or your laptop
  4. Use the Advanced Controls to choose other settings or make changes
    1. Camera Controls to choose the view you want your remote attendees to see
    2. Zoom Room Settings to mute and unmute camera and/or microphone for in the room or remote attendees

In-Room Microphone

  1. Remove the microphone from the base
  2. Press the front round button to mute and unmute the microphone (indicated by a Red/Green light on the top) or use the touch panel control.
  3. Adjust the volume using the touch panel as needed

Classroom Capture

Classroom capture is a built-in feature of the standard classroom.  To utilize this feature, a service request needs to be submitted .  A Client Technology Consultant processes the request to set up the recording schedule for your class meetings.  The recording starts automatically.  The camera and microphone feeds are captured.  Recordings are processed using Panopto and uploaded to Canvas course.  To submit requests, go to https://dartgo.org/capture  https://dartgo.org/capture.

Go to Advanced Controls to use the

  • Camera Controls to choose the desired camera view(s)
