Why transition away from Adobe Creative Cloud Synced files?

Adobe has decided to discontinue the Creative Cloud desktop synchronization service and the folder and file sharing capabilities of Synced files. The process will begin on October 1, 2024 for Enterprise accounts.

If you currently utilize this feature, this means that any and all files in your Creative Cloud Files folder will no longer be copied to cloud storage. It also means that files and folders shared from Synced files will no longer be accessible by others, inside Dartmouth or externally. Adobe will begin to remove the Synced files section on the Creative Cloud website and permanently delete the assets within the cloud storage folder Synced files.

What is going to happen to my files?

Files will remain in your Creative Cloud Files folder (on your local device) and will not be removed during this process. Sharing links will no longer be visible. You may leave the assets in the Creative Cloud Files folder, or you can choose to move the assets to other Dartmouth supported collaboration, file sharing and data storage solutions, as outlined here. The link will also be included in the Links to Articles section below.

What about Cloud Documents, Creative Cloud Libraries, and other Adobe storage options?

Adobe continues to offer and support cloud storage and syncing across Creative Cloud with Cloud Documents, Creative Cloud Libraries, Lightroom cloud storage, and Frame.io cloud storage. None of these cloud storage solutions are impacted by this change
