Changing a NetID password for a non-person account

A non-person account is a departmental, organization, or service account.

Step-by-Step

  1. Go to myaccount.dartmouth.edu/.
  2. Enter the name or NetID for the account (i.e. departmental, organization, or service).
  3. Select an option for verifying the identity for the account, and follow the prompts.
    • Please note, if the account does not already have personal email address on file, you will need to select Contact the Service Desk.
  4. Enter your new password. A password strength indicator will display.  Creating 'strong' passwords helps keep Dartmouth's online community safe. You will be required to enter the password twice to verify it.
  5. Select the Set Password button.

Updating a password requires that you login again from your other devices using the new password.

If the account requires Duo Two-factor Authentication for access to the non-person account, be sure to also update Duo devices approved to access the account.

For assistance, please contact the Service Desk.

As a responsible member of the Dartmouth community, it is critical you maintain the security of the account. If someone obtains the NetID and password, they can log into systems that do not require an additional authentication step for access. If you think someone is using the password without approval, or that the account may be compromised, you should change the password immediately.

Changing the password affects authentication into any system that uses that NetID (e.g. a Dartmouth.edu email account).
