ITC will make available the newest GlobalProtect client, version 5.2.12-26, on Wednesday morning, July 6, 2022 at 8:00 a.m. You will be prompted to download the new version of the client when you connect to GlobalProtect after 8:00 a.m. on that Wednesday. ITC recommends you apply this update to your VPN client.
Once the download is finished, you'll be asked if you want to install the new version.
Note: Windows computers will need to restart for the update to take effect.
Note: If you access GlobalProtect using a shortcut in the Windows taskbar, you will need to remove the old shortcut and add a new one:
- To remove the old shortcut, right click the GlobalProtect icon in your taskbar and choose Unpin from taskbar
- To add a new shortcut, click your Start menu and right click GlobalProtect. Choose More > Pin to taskbar
Note: In Windows, you may be prompted with a Script Error. You will need to click Yes to continue.
To fix the script error, you will need to clear your internet cache:
- Open the Start menu and search for Control Panel.
- Open the Control Panel and select Internet Options.
- Under Browsing History, click Delete.
- Check all boxes except Preserve Favorite website data, history, and download history.
- Click Delete.
- Relaunch GlobalProtect
