Connecting a Notebook or Tablet (Wireless)

If you want to connect your laptop or mobile device to the classroom audiovisual system wirelessly, select the wireless option from system control interface at the front of the room to get started.

The most common wireless option in the classroom is Solstice, but there are also locations with Zoom Room installed (IIES and ECSC).

We recommend downloading the appropriate wireless application on your computer ahead of your class or event.

Solstice Quickstart

  1. Connect to the eduroam wireless network
  2. Enter the IP address display on the Solstice splash page into your preferred web browser (skip to step 4 if you already have the solstice client)
  3. Follow the onscreen instructions to download and install the Solstice client
  4. Enter the IP or name of the pod (if asked) and the 4-digit screen key displayed on the Solstice splash page
  5. Select Share Desktop to share the entire screen or Share Window to display one application

Zoom Room Screen Share

Where Zoom Room is provided, you can share your screen wirelessly through the desktop or mobile client. There are two options to connect; Direct Screen Sharing or Screen Sharing via share.zoom.us. Learn more about sharing your screen using the desktop client.
 

Direct Screen Sharing

  1. Start or join a meeting in a Zoom Room.
  2. Tap Share Content on the Zoom Rooms Start or join a meeting using the Zoom Rooms controller
  3. Click the Share Content or Camera button on the iPad controller in the Zoom Room.
  4. Tap the Desktop tab.
  5. The controller and the TV in the Zoom Room will display the Share Laptop Screen panel with instructions to laptop users for sharing their screen. Participants can share using either the Zoom desktop client or a browser.
  6. In the Zoom desktop client or mobile app, click or tap Share screen.
  7. Enter the sharing key or meeting ID, then click Share (desktop) or tap OK (mobile).
  8. Select the screen or application you want to share, then click or tap Share.
  9. Your shared screen will show on the Zoom Rooms display. You can also access screen share controls.

Screen Sharing via share.zoom.us

  1. Start or join a meeting in a Zoom Room.
  2. Tap Share Content on the Zoom Rooms controller.
  3. Open a web browser and visit share.zoom.usOpens in a new window.
  4. Enter the meeting ID or personal link, then click Share Screen. You can also click Enter a Sharing Key.
  5. When prompted, allow your web browser to open Zoom.
  6. Select the screen or application you want to share, then click Share.
