On Thursday, August 8th at 8:00 a.m. OnBase will be taken off-line to be upgraded from its current version EP5 to the latest version 24.1. The system may be available on Friday, August 9th, but normal usage is not expected to resume until Monday, August 12th.
We pages utilizing the OnBase system such as Finance and Records Management Center eForms may not be available during the upgrade.
Upgrading to the New OnBase Unity Client Version 24.1
What actions do you need to take to bring your Unity Client up to the latest version? It depends:
Upgrading Windows Computers that have the Dartmouth Software Center installed
Note: Almost all Windows computers provided by the Dartmouth Computer Store will have the Dartmouth Software Center installed.
- Restart your computer at least once at some point on Wednesday, August 7th before 5:00 p.m.
- Make sure you have logged out and exited the OnBase Unity Client by 8:00 a.m. on Thursday, August 8th.
- If possible, do not shut down your computer when you leave for the day on August 8th; just lock it by pressing Ctrl+Alt+Delete then pressing Enter.
- If your computer remains in the office or connected to VPN, and the above instructions are followed the Unity Client version 24.1 will be upgraded on your computer by the time you come into work on the following Monday. There will be no actions to take by you.
If you are unable to do the above steps, or for some reason your computer cannot be seen by the system pushing the OnBase Unity Client version 24.1 over the weekend, the system will try to push the upgrade to your computer on Monday morning, August 12th. It is important to note that it could take a few hours on Monday for the installation to be performed.
Important: If you are running the Unity Client the upgrade will not work; you must have exited the application.
The installation process is silent; there are no messages displayed or interactions during the process.
Triggering an Immediate Install on a Windows Computer with the Dartmouth Software Center
- Open the Dartmouth Software Center on your computer. You can do this by pressing the Windows key and searching for "Dartmouth Software Center".
- Locate OnBase Unity Client in the "All" section
- Click "Reinstall" or "Install"
Upgrading Windows Computer Not in the CAP (Standards) Program
If you are not on a CAP computer then the Unity Client will not automatically install and you will not be able to use the Dartmouth Software Center. Please contact DartOnBase.List@cloud.dartmouth.edu to arrange for assistance.
Running the OnBase Unity Client via RDS
If you already use the Unity Client as through Microsoft Remote Desktop Services (RDS), there is no action for you to take. When you come into work Monday morning the new version 24.1 Unity Client will be on your RDS desktop and ready to use.
Other scenarios
