Workspace Required

Notion
Description

Notion MCP helps you plug tools into your Notion workspace, allowing you to create, edit, search and organize content directly from Claude. Get contextual and relevant assistance from Claude, while keeping knowledge organized in Notion.

Access

Notion workspace required. You will only see tools your organization has given you access to.

Recommendations for Use

This connector can edit files in your workspace, not just read it. Open the connector's tool permissions before first use and confirm which actions Claude is allowed to take.

  • Leave interactive and write-capable tools set to Needs approval so each action is confirmed before it runs.
  • Do not connect a workspace holding sensitive or regulated data without your department's data handling approval.
  • Review pages Claude creates or edits before sharing them with others.

Professionals who work extensively with spreadsheets can use Claude for Excel to collaborate with Claude directly where you work.

Claude for Excel accelerates spreadsheet work through intelligent assistance. • Verify that outputs match your organization's brand guidelines.

Only use Claude for PowerPoint with trusted files and not files from external untrusted sources (for example, downloaded templates, vendor files, collaborative documents, and data imports).

Reference: what each access level means

Access level What it means
Open access No Dartmouth login and no subscription. Runs against a public database as soon as you enable it.
Access via Dartmouth Requires connecting your Dartmouth account. Access follows the license the College already holds.
Subscription required Works only if you or your lab separately hold a paid account with that vendor. The connector searches your existing subscription; it doesn't grant one.
Workspace required Connects to an account you already have in another system, and can read and change content there depending on the permissions you set.
Not available Reviewed and not approved, usually over licensing terms that don't fit Dartmouth's agreements. There is no workaround on Dartmouth's end.
