Your NetID
All current faculty, staff, alumni, and students of Dartmouth have a Dartmouth account with a corresponding user name (NetID) and password. Your Dartmouth NetID is your permanent, personal identifier used to log in to most Dartmouth systems. You will only be issued one and it does not change if or when your affiliation with the College changes.
You can find your NetID at lookup.dartmouth.edu, or, if you have one, on your physical Dartmouth ID card next to DID#. It should be a 7-digit mix of numbers and letters like f12345x.
Change your Password
If you ever forget your Dartmouth password or need to change it for security reasons, follow the steps below.
- Go to myaccount.dartmouth.edu.
- Enter your name or NetID.
- Select an option for verifying your identity and follow the prompts.
- If you have a valid personal email address on record, you can send yourself a code.
- If using a personal email address is not an option, please call the Service Desk and we can provide a code for you.
- Enter your new password. A password strength indicator will display. Creating 'strong' passwords helps keep Dartmouth's online community safe. You will be required to enter the password twice to verify it.
- Select the Set Password button.
Updating your password requires that you log in again from your other devices using your new password. Learn more about the effects of changing your password.
